Teen Voices, Insights and Stories
In this space, we boost the voices of brave teens who've shared their own experiences with anxiety and give advice to other teens dealing with mental health challenges. This will continue to grow as teens share their advice and stories in the online activities.
“To anyone who is struggling with depression and anxiety, people do care about you and there are always ways to improve from making a plan to connecting with loved ones.”
“i think just always use your resources, there are many outlets for you whether it be through social media or even therapy. don't be afraid to ask for help, you're completely normal and have no reason to feel that you're not.”
“To anyone struggling with depression and anxiety problems, it won't last forever. You will get through it, you are strong enough to get through it. You are stronger than you think you are. You are enough. You are capable. Keep trying hard, its okay to have bad days, its okay to make mistakes, nobody is perfect, just try to focus on your strengths and be more kind to yourself beacuse you deserve it.”
“Things will get better, don't give up!! stay positive even though it's hard, there's always someone there to help/talk. Don't walk away/ignore your problems. Find solutions.”
“Talk to someone about it! There are people that are so willing to help and i know that when my friends come to me with problems, i don't think any less of them or anything like that. Its important to know that there are friends or family that you can speak to about anything and who knows, they might even be able to help u, even if it's just a little bit.”
“To do things that make u happy, even if it's a temporary high, do it. it can be listening to ur favorite song(s) or dressing up or cleaning your room. anything that YOU know you'll enjoy or will bring u joy, do it.”
“Don't always let your hope down. Everyone has their ups and downs, so you're definitely not alone. If you ever need help, talk to a friend or an adult. I'm not joking, talking to someone helps. One last thing is to always look at the positive side. Don't just focus on the negative side all the time.”
“It takes time to be happy. You need to learn how to be happy and surround yourself with more positive energy.”
